Juicing used to be a fad. Then it was a trend. Then a movement.

Now, for millions, it’s a lifestyle.

The many health benefits of juicing fresh fruits and vegetables are so well known and commonly accepted that they need no further elaboration here. What is less understood is the juice some physicians consider the most important of all, the juice every human being on earth should consume daily, beginning in infancy.

Cannabis juice?

Naturally.

William Courtney, M.D. is a firebrand cannabis physician in California renowned for achieving stunning success with his patients by recommending they consume the juice of several fresh, raw cannabis leaves daily, both as a preventive health supplement and for a deceptively vast variety of ailments. (Deceptively because the ailments actually have something in common. More on that in a moment.) Typically these patients see noticeable improvement within days after starting with cannabis juice, and it’s not uncommon for symptoms to disappear entirely—after all other treatments and medicines have failed.

Recently Fox News reported that exact result in a patient who discovered that cannabis juice can replace prednisone and ibuprofen for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA is an intensely painful autoimmune disease that disfigures the hands and feet on both sides of the body at once. For her RA, Katie Marsh of Maine was given the steroid drug prednisone and an antibiotic. The latter made her symptoms worse. She endured increasing agony, taking toxic, organ-grinding painkillers only when the misery was unbearable. Holistic remedies had no effect, and sleep was no refuge: Her pain was so powerful, it resulted in insomnia. When a friend suggested raw cannabis juice as a last resort, Katie had no logical reason not to try it. (Try to think of one. We couldn’t either.) She found relief within just a few days, and her RA is now in complete remission—with no pharmaceutical drugs involved.

It must be understood that this result in a case of aggressive RA is nothing short of spectacularly astonishing. Still, her physician, Dr. Courtney, is not surprised. He sees it every day.

The cause of nearly all disease

No, it isn’t rock ‘n’ roll, TV, or Twinkies. It’s inflammation. As reported in Natural News: “Persistent, systemic inflammation is at the root of practically all known chronic health conditions, including everything from rheumatoid arthritis and high cholesterol to dementia and cancer.” [Emphasis mine.] This is why the variety of ailments that raw cannabis juice is effective against is “deceptively” wide; they’re actually all stemming from the same root (botanical pun unintended, but there it is).

Acute inflammation is the body’s way of fixing itself. Whether for a cut, the common cold, or recovery from major surgery, inflammation of high intensity and short duration is extremely beneficial in marshaling reparative cells and guarding the body against microbial invaders.

Chronic, low-level inflammation, however, is the silent stalker of health. It can last a lifetime, arising from stress (which is a universally shared experience); a diet lacking in adequate vitamins, minerals, and clean water; environmental pollutants; and insufficient amounts of physical exertion or sleep. Any one of these would be legitimate cause for concern. Yet they pertain en masse to most of us.

How does raw cannabis juice control inflammation?

First things first: Raw cannabis juice is both non-toxic and non-psychoactive, so it’s safe for babies and children. (It’s non-tasty, too, but that’s easily masked in a fruit or veggie smoothie.) The neuroprotective and immune-system supportive aspects of cannabis juice are thought to be advantageous to early childhood development. But raw, fresh cannabis contains virtually none of the best-known medically effective cannabinoids, THC and CBD, which are created only by drying, aging, and heat. So how does it work?

Ganja juice contains at least four cannabinoids we know of so far that are eminently anti-inflammatory in character. They are all so-called “acid precursors” of medical molecules present in inhaled cannabis:

  • Cannabidiolic acid (CBD acid, or CBDA) inhibits cancer cell growth as well as inflammation.
  • Cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) also suppresses pain and bacterial growth.
  • Cannabichromenic acid (CBCA) combats inflammation and fungal infection.
  • Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THC acid, or THCA) additionally suppresses cancer cell growth, muscle spasms, and insomnia.

As the saying goes, the cat is out of the bag…and it isn’t going back in. Evidence is mounting that if everyone were to consume raw, fresh cannabis juice on a daily basis as a preventive measure, chronic inflammation and debilitating disease as we know it could soon become an increasingly rare occurrence, a relic of a pre-enlightened age.

Maybe it’s time for the federal government (having quietly obtained U.S. patents on cannabinoids for their medical effectiveness) to quit with the stalling and the dopey game playing, straighten up, and legalize what Dr. Courtney calls the planet’s most important vegetable.
